Elcomsoft Phone Breaker 11.2: downloads iOS 26 iCloud backups

Elcomsoft Phone Breaker 11.2 introduces support for iCloud backups made with the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS 26, as well as the iOS/iPadOS 27 beta. This support is preliminary; your feedback, especially on edge cases, is highly welcome. Elcomsoft Phone Breaker becomes the first and only third-party tool to successfully download iCloud backups produced with Apple's latest mobile operating systems.

Cloud forensics is often the only way to reach critical evidence when a suspect's device is missing or locked, and iCloud backups play a major role in Apple's cloud ecosystem. Accessing them is also among the most technically demanding operations in cloud forensics. iCloud backups are not stored as single, ready-to-download files; they are assembled from large numbers of separate fragments, which the tool has to collect and reconstruct into a coherent backup.

In iOS/iPadOS 26 (and, by extension, iOS/iPadOS 27, which is currently in beta), Apple changed just about everything in the way they handle iCloud backups. The authentication protocol is pretty much the only thing they left unchanged; everything else got a drastic overhaul. Apple's developers changed the requests, data structures, encryption, and even compression, making every third-party forensic tool incompatible with the new scheme.

Elcomsoft Phone Breaker 11 brought initial support for iOS 17 and 18 backups; version 11.1 polished that to perfection. This time we're rolling out initial support for iOS/iPadOS 26 cloud backups – treat it as preliminary, use it in your scenarios and tell us if you encounter an issue. Your feedback will help us identify and fix those edge cases.
